Images
Press Add an image on a question, or on an answer of a multiple choice question or a poll.
- Use a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF file of up to 10 MB. Animated GIFs play on phones.
- TarmTorb makes a smaller copy for phones and a larger one for the big screen, so images load quickly. It also removes hidden information, such as where a photo was taken.
- Processing takes a few seconds. A question whose image is still processing can’t be hosted yet.
- Describe each image in a few words, for players who use a screen reader.
To upload images, your email address must be verified: open the link we emailed you when you signed up.
How images reach phones
When you host a game, you choose how images load:
- Smooth: phones load the next question’s images while the current question is being played, so every question starts on time. It suits almost every event.
- Protected: images arrive only when their question starts, so nobody can see them early. Use it when the prizes are big. On weak Wi-Fi, questions with images can start a few seconds late.
YouTube clips
Instead of an image, a question can have a YouTube clip: paste the video’s link, then choose where it starts and ends, such as 1:30.
With a big screen, the clip plays only there. Without one, every phone has to stream it, which venue Wi-Fi can’t carry for hundreds of players, so clips suit online events best.
Storage
Each team has storage for its images, 1 GB unless we have agreed more with you. Owners see how much is used under Limits and usage, on the Team page. An image that no quiz, brand or game uses is deleted after 30 days.
